An Elegant, Book-Inspired Gold Foil Trifold Invitation
Category: Portfolio | Published on: Oct 10, 2014
One of the most exciting things about my job is that I get to be endlessly creative. I love when a client comes to me and says, “So, I have this crazy idea…” I can’t resist a crazy idea!
Love Poem Inspiration
The inspiration for the design is this wonderful book cover. The soft blush pink textured paper paired with the gold foil is romantic, elegant, and so much fun!
The Fantastic Foil Result
In order to create the tactile feel of the book, the invitation was printed on felt paper, which has a nice tooth to it. The outside was first digitally printed to add the faint blush color. Then, the entire outside, front and back, of the trifold was foil stamped with gold swirls. As a sweet, personal touch, we added a quote about marriage to the first fold of the invite.
The invitation then folded out to a complete 15 inches wide by 7 inches tall, allowing for plenty of room for all the important details.
The left panel was used for accommodations information and the couple’s Instagram tag. The right panel was used to show a map of the area and instructions on where to park. The center panel included the standard invitation language. To keep costs down, the entire inside was printed digitally but coordinated with the gold color on the front.
So far this was one of my favorite projects! I loved getting to work with custom foil, which is an awesome way to add some texture and light to a design.
Have you had a crazy idea for an invitation? Shoot me an email! I’m up for the challenge.
